

Wendell Lyman Schenk
On November 24th, 2012, Wendell Lyman Schenk, 87, returned home to the loving arms of his Savior and his beloved heavenly family. He passed away peacefully at Bridgeview Estates of natural causes.
He was born on September 13th, 1925, in Paul, Idaho to Frederick Lyman Schenk and Mabel Reddish. He married his sweet wife Pearl Afton Babbel on September 2nd, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the loving parents of eleven children.
Wendell was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life, and served a mission to Atlanta, Georgia with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; his children, Norman (Claudia) Schenk of Idaho Falls, ID; Renae (Rodger) McDonald of Rocklin, CA; Jenene Eggleston of Idaho Falls, ID; Lynda (Denny) Christensen of Ririe, ID; Paul (Robin) Schenk of Twin Falls, ID; Roger (Maura) Schenk of Twin Falls, ID; Susan (Scott) Pickup of Heyburn, ID; Vicki (Reed) Ellsworth of Lindon, UT; Alan (Patrice) Schenk of Pleasant View, UT; Trudy (Marc) Hauver of Lehi, UT; and Torye Schenk of Idaho Falls, ID, as well as 53 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Wendell was an Army veteran serving in the 86th Infantry Division during World War II. He always maintained a deep love for this country. Having attended Twin Falls High School, he continued his education at Idaho State University in Pharmacy and worked for over 40 years in that profession.
He is fondly remembered for his sense of humor and always had a joke to share. He was a friend to all. Wendell had a love for flying, music and magic. He gathered an extensive collection of hats and guns. However, despite his various interests, he felt his greatest blessing was his family. As his family, we feel he was one of our greatest blessings. We love him and will greatly miss him.
Funeral services for Wendell will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Twin Falls 17th Ward LDS Chapel, 2680 Elizabeth Blvd, in Twin Falls with Bishop Wade Pettingill conducting. Military honors by the Magic Valley Honor Guard and Idaho National Guard. Burial will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing will be held for family and friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and the staff at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park”.
