Mrs. Couey, a retired food supervisor for Henderson County School District, was born on January 10, 1941, in Jacksonville. She grew up and attended school in Alto and Tyler, graduating from Tyler High in 1958.
Following high school, she married and started a family. She met, and later married, Terry Couey.
She loved gardening, cooking and canning.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Couey, of Brownsboro; sons, Ronald Hallmark, of Washington, Jim Edd Hobbs, of Lindale, and Randy Hobbs of Colorado Springs, Colorado; stepson, James Hobbs, of Lindale; three grandchildren, Gabriel Hallmark, Ashley Zmolik, and Tyler Hobbs; and great-grandson, Zane Zmolik.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, July 7, 2015, in Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler with Rev. James Cheatham officiating.
