Services for Barney Ray Steel, of Tyler are scheduled for 2pm Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Bobby McClenny officiating. Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Steel was born August 13, 1926 in Tyler to Barney C. and Myrtle Steel and passed away Dec. 4, 2011. He worked as a millwright and in the oil field industry. He was a US Air Force veteran and attended the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his brother, Joe Steel of Freeport; daughter, Connie Steel of Tyler; son, Kenneth Steel and wife, Penny of Tyler; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters; Loretta Burleson of Lindale, Norma Jean Buckalew of Tyler, Louise Tomlinson of Teneha,TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jaquie Steel, two brothers and one sister and daughter, Sheila Dorman.
Pallbearers will be Austin Wallace, Avery Wallace, Jacobi Steel, Junior Steel, Don Burleson and Robert Bunnell.
Visitation will be 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the funeral home.
Arrangements under the direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery and Mausoleum, Tyler, TX.
