

Billy Lee Bain, age 64, of Tyler, passed away in the mid-evening hours of Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on June 24, 1947 in Gresham, Texas to LeRoy and Mamie Estelle Wallace Bain. Billy married the love of his life on June 4, 1966 in Kilgore and together they spent the next 45 years together raising a family and creating a lifetime of memories. He worked as a route salesman for both Pepsi and Dr. Pepper and finally retired from Tyler Beverage Company. Billy led by example. He showed his children the meaning of hard work and what it meant to never call in sick. He loved to fish and was an avid bowler; he is in the Arlington Texas Bowling Hall of Fame for bowling a perfect game in league play. He was a diehard fan of both the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers but those who knew Billy will remember him as his children’s biggest fan. He never missed a sporting event or any opportunity he had to spend time with his children. Billy leaves behind a legacy for all to follow.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Kay of Tyler; son, Christopher Michael Bain, and wife Kimiko, of Whitehouse; daughter, LeKay White, and husband Ian, of Tenaha; mother, Mamie Bain of Tyler; grandchildren, Colby Maldonado, Bailee Bain, Ethan White, and Avery White; and sisters, Barbara Deel, and husband Walter, and Shirley Palmer, and husband Harold.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Bain, and by one brother, George Bain.
Services for Billy Bain will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
