

Chapel services for Charles E. Gideon, 81, of Tyler are scheduled for 1:00 p. m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Chapel with Brother Sherman Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Park.
Mr. Gideon was born December 2, 1928 in Austin to the late P. C. (Perry) and Billie Dema Mullican and passed away April 29, 2010 in Tyler. He lived in the Tyler area for most of his life, worked for Tyler Pipe Industries for 37 years as a supervisor, served in the U S Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Gideon is preceded in death by a son, Mike Gideon; grandson, Ryan Whitting; sisters, Kathy Trainer and Jean Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Helen Gideon of Tyler; son, Gary Gideon of Tyler; daughters, Diane Willmon and husband, Dennis of Lone Oak, Sue Whitting and husband, Ross of Whitehouse; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Tina Stroman, Delores Davis, JoAnn Smith and Joyce Brown; many nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Todd Whitting, Jason Carlile, Brad Whitting, Brandon Collier, Brian Collier, Justin Collier, Tyler Collier, Cody Jackson, Mark Willmon, Michael Gideon, Jonathan Gideon, and Kyle Gideon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
