Doris Cook

She was born November 4, 1929 in Alton, IL to Olen and Ruth Shearburn.

She was the older of one sibling, brother, Dave Shearburn of Sterling, IL.

Doris graduated from Sterling Township High School in Sterling, IL in June of 1947.On July 6, 1953 she married John Cook in Huntington Park, California. She was an office manager at C & S Meats Inc., a clothing model, and most importantly a homemaker. She was also a faithful Jehovah Witness and Attended the Kingdom Hall of Tyler Texas.

She was survived by: Son John David Cook of Wichita Falls, TX, Son and daughter-in-law Barry and Deana Cook of Tyler, TX, Daughter and son-in-law Alice and Ken Boatman of Whitehouse, TX, Son and daughter-in-law Paul and Stephanie Cook of Whitehouse, TX. 7 grandchildren: Barry Nicholson, Anthony Boatman, Jonathon Lincoln, Zackary Cook, Tera Cook, Avril Cook, Peyrce Cook, and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Jackson Cook.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm, Monday, September 12, 2011.

Services will be held at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home 2pm, Tuesday, September 13.

Elder Dan Hughes will be officiating. Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
