Sylvia Ann Arnold (Frederick) Tharpe
Aaron Eugene Arnold
Frances was preceded in Death by:
Husband, Ernest Arnold
Daughter, Barbara (Clark) Rice
Grandson, Jeffery Craig Clark
Grandson, John Scott Frederick
Frances had 3 Children, 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Frances was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and read the Bible regularly.
She had a love of reading and amassed a huge book collection. In fact, she carried a small notebook in her purse with the books she had read so she wouldn’t purchase the same book again. She loved reading Historical Romance Novels. She often talked about the history she learned, but we know it was the romance she enjoyed more.
Frances retired from Montgomery Wards after 40 years. She loved her job and knew most everyone in Tyler after working there for so long. She spent years working in the Apparel Department and had a flair for fashion and was always impeccably dressed. She also worked in the Jewelry Department and loved diamonds and gold. After her retirement, she worked at a local Jewelry Store continuing her retail career.
Frances was known as “Mamaw” to her family and loved ones. She had a huge heart and enjoyed spending time with all her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Frances loved dogs. Her favorite breed was Dachshund and she usually had several of them, as well as mutts at the same time. Her dogs were her companions, especially later in life when she was home more. Her dogs were spoiled rotten and ate better than most humans!
Frances loved to collect things. She adored Betty Boop and had a large collection of memorabilia. There were Dachshund items in every room of her house. She loved anything blingy and shiny. She had a crystal collection and hung crystals any where she could. She even had a disco ball hanging from the ceiling of her living room.
Frances had a positive spirit, joy for life and contagious personality. She left an imprint on so many hearts and beautiful memories that will last forever. We will miss her deeply but find comfort in knowing she was welcomed into Heaven by those that had gone before her and we are promised to be reunited one day.
The family appreciates the kindness shown to Frances during her final journey. Too many to name, but gratitude to her friends; Flossie, John and Nora who checked on her and lifted her spirits. Additionally, The Meals on Wheels Personnel, Home Health Care Staff and the many medical professionals that were devoted to her care and comfort.
