Funeral Services for Gunther Thornton Jensen age 88, of Tyler will be 2:00PM Friday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Ken Somerville officiating with Burial in Tyler Memorial Park under the direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. Mr Jensen was born on September 16, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to Clement Thornton and Gunda Gaskjenn Jensen and passed away on November 20, 2013 in Tyler. Formerly of Brooklyn, Mr Jensen was proud of his Norwegian heritage living in Norway in the 1930s, served in the U S Army Air Corps from 1944-45 as a B 29 Tail gunner had lived in Tyler since 1955, Retiring after 40 years of service as a Mechanical Engineer for General Electric. Mr Jensen was a member of the Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway and Kiwanis. Survivors include wife: Lois Jensen of Tyler, Son: David Jensen of Tyler Daughter: Janet Jensen Kugle of La Rue, 2 grandchildren, 3 Greatgrandchildren. Mr Jensen was preceded in death by 1st wife Eleanor Bradland.
