

Allen, a Master Optician and former owner of Medical Center Opticians in Tyler, was born on June 15, 1937 in Chicago, IL. He grew up and attended school in Richardson. Following high school he attended the University of North Texas after which he attended the Dallas Police Academy and was a police officer in Richardson, Texas and Dallas prior to being drafted into the Army, serving as a Military Police Officer, achieving the rank of Sergeant . Following his military service, he worked as an Optician with his father-in-law in Dallas at Suburban Optical and moved to Tyler in 1974. He opened Medical Center Opticians, which he owned until his retirement in 2008. He loved to crappie fish and always carried his fishing equipment with him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Frazier and is survived by his wife Bonnie of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son William and his wife, Dawn Frazier of Tyler; daughter Leanne and her husband, Larry Lewis of Tyler; step-daughters Teresa and her husband, Jeff Ray of Neosho, Missouri and Rosa and her husband, Tony Cushman of Bullard; sister Joyce and her husband, Hall Martin of Flowery Brach, Georgia and 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, November 5, 2015 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler. Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday at Tyler Memorial Cemetery with Pastors John Green and Wayne Irwin officiating.
