John & Virginia Tull

John “Bert” Tull, Jr., 64 and his wife, Virginia “Jip” Tull, 74, both of Tyler, passed away on July 17, 2012 at their home in Tyler. Bert, a registered nurse, was born on July 9, 1948 in Fort Worth and Jip, also a registered nurse, was born on September 3, 1937 in Jacksonville, Alabama. They were married on January 21, 1975 in Grand Prairie and were members of Trinity Baptist Church. Bert was a U.S. Navy Veteran and an alumnus of Tyler Junior College.

Bert is survived by his daughters, Melissa (and her husband, Kenneth) Skierski of Tool, TX; Amanda Geer of Tyler; father, John Tull, Sr. of Grand Prairie; sisters, Tetinia Savage of Grand Prairie, Susan Spindor of Morgan Mill; grandsons, Zachary Skierski, Leif Skierski, Coby Gordy; granddaughters, Bethany Tull and Dacy Geer. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Smitherman, son, Robert Smitherman and mother, Virginia Tull. Jip is survived by her daughters, Amanda Geer of Tyler, Melissa (and her husband, Kenneth) Skierski of Tool, TX; brothers, Ray Taylor of Azle and John Taylor of Beaumont; grandsons, Zachary Skierski, Leif Skierski, Coby Gordy; granddaughters, Bethany Tull and Dacy Geer.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West in Tyler; with services to follow at 11:00 AM. Brother James Cheatham will officiate and interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Park
