Julia Alice Jones, 92, of Chandler, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Tyler. Mrs. Jones, a retired manager, was born on October 3, 1920 in Hillsboro, TX. She grew up in Edom and Tyler. Following school she did factory work before opening her own lounge, “Julia’s Lounge” in Gladewater in 1968. Later in her life, she managed the Kidd Jones location on 5th St., retiring in 1982. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marietta Jones in 1995, brother, Alfred Haley, granddaughter, Pamela D. Jones in 1989 and grandson Christopher Jones, also in 1989. She is survived by her son, Glenn Ray Jones of Stephenville; sister, Carley Jean Wallace of Chandler; Mary Jo McAlexander of Chandler; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler. Funeral Services will be held at 10AM, Thursday, May 9, 2013 also at the funeral home with Entombment to follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
