I can't believe it's been a year since Ms. Mary passed. She was such a blessing to everyone she met, and she never met a stranger at our hotel, and she had a servant's heart.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to Mr. Larry Johnson and family. I just lost my aunt recently and now my dear Ms. Mary.
 She was s such a joy to work with @ the Hampton Inn & Suites. I sincerely enjoyed many good breakfast moments with her and ate a lot of Banana Nut Muffins during the pandemic (Smile). We lost a jewel. She went above and beyond. (RIP)  God bless and strengthen your hearts.

In 1981 Mary came into my life.  I was not in church at that time.
Mary invited to the church where Brother and Sister Miller were pastoring.
She told me she would pick me up.  A few minutes before then I left my home.  The next time Mary invited me I went to church and Jesus filled me with the Holy Ghost.

I have been in church since then..

To Mary Johnson you have a crown on your head.... thank you.

Memories of Aunt Mary

Aunt Mary was more than just an Aunt to most of us growing up, she was joy incarnate. She played games gave gifts and sang songs. I loved to sing when I was young, and I remember  her teaching  me Jesus Loves me and countless other Children’s hymns that I sang to my children. And now my grand babies. To this day, when I am scared unsure or afraid I sing Jesus Loves me in my head til his peace fills me and I can go to sleep. I will never forget the trips to Dairy Queen for a small soft serve ice cream, or a coke. Which in Texas is actually a Dr Pepper, Tommy’s supermarket for a corn dog or to M System for a bag of Candy. Or A Trombone player in the Midland High school Band. Go Bull Dogs! Purple and Gold forever! I will not forget the countless times she pulled stickers from tiny feet rinsed with cold cold water so it would hurt less, how to get the wings in your hair just right and a spritz of Final Net to keep them in place.  Pink foam curlers in my hair overnight for pretty hair for church the next day or how all of my Aunts stay close with each other, and how  my sisters and I follow their example through thick and thin. Aunt Mary leaves us with a legacy of Love that we have passed down to our children too. She will be missed, but I know she is rejoicing in the arms of our savior today. I know she is with my mama and my Daddy and my MawMaw looking down us all As well. 

I moved down the street from Mary and family when I was 11.  They were the first family I met. 
Though mary was older and I didn't see as much of her as the other siblings, she always had a kind word and that beautiful smile when she saw me. 
I think thats one of the most precious memories I have of Mary… her kindness and big smile.
This family is my family and always will be. 
My deepest sympathy to Marys family and friends. 
Until we meet again…..


I met Mary at Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Dialville, Texas! We hit it off immediately & became friends! Mary was a very special lady with a big heart! I will cherish my memories of her & will miss her greatly! See you in Heaven, my friend! Prayers for all her family and friends! 

I have known Mary for 58 years. Her family moved across the highway from us & her family became our best friends. It's been a few years since I have seen her. She was always funny and would always say her comes the Gibsons. Her mom & my mom were great friends. Mary I know you will be greatly missed by all your family. You are in a better place. You are not sick anymore.

I met Mary and Lisa when I was my sister Pam’s caregiver at M D Anderson during  her radiation treatments. Mary stole our hearts with her beautiful spirit and smile. She immediately let us know of her faith in God and her love of Him. Words cannot express what a impression she made on us. She will be missed but I know she is in the presence of her Savior.  So sorry for her family’s loss.

My sweet sister you will forever be in my memories.  I’m so thankful for all the good times we had together.  I miss you everyday.  But, what brings me great joy is knowing your heart was ready to meet the Lord.  We had a lot of talks about heaven and how important it was to stay ready.  The countless hours you spent at night listening to the best preachers in the UPC and reminding me to keep the main things the main thing.  Your light shinned bright and I’m so proud of the pure live you had for our whole family.

I was a childhood friend of Mary’s in Seminole, TX. We lived around the corner from each other when we were little. Mary’s family moved to a different part of town when we were a bit older. I spent as much time as I could over there, playing, spending the night, etc. We had such fun. I was so sad when the family moved to Midland. I reconnected with her a few years ago on Facebook and was looking forward to seeing each other again this side of heaven. But God had other plans. We’ll find each other when it’s my turn and talk forever. Love you friend!!!

Mary was such a nice, friendly woman.  I always enjoyed being around her.  Lisa and I helped her and Larry at their gift wrapping booth at the Mall in Frisco one year.  It was quite an experience, but a fun time that we shared.  Heaven gained a wonderful one.  RIP sweet Mary.  

My first memories include my sweet, fiesty Aunt Mary. She took us everywhere with her and always showed us off. Once she wrapped my sisters and I in bath towels and whisked us off to church. We were running late and were going to get ready at her friend’s house. Then, her car broke down on the freeway! When I was 3 or 4, she came to Alaska to visit for the summer and my favorite doll fell in the mud and she washed and dried it. We waited in the basement, by the dryer, for it to be ready and be good-as-new again. She always ade me feel loved and special. She used to say, “y’all are my girls.” After my mom died in 2005, everytime I saw Aunt Mary, I had my mom back for a moment. She always made sure to talk about our mom, her older sister. In the early days of the pandemic, we would drive to Tyler and find ways to socially distance. Once we met in the park, had a picnic, and traced our hands on butcher paper. Life will never be the same. 

Mary always made me feel like family.  She was always so thoughtful and considerate with some sort of little gift to let you know she thought of you.  Im so grateful we got to celebrate some birthdays together recently.  We all laughed and had such a fun time.  Im so grateful for that memory.  Love you sister Mary, you are and will always be missed ❤️  Until we meet again!

I question God, why did she have to go? So early, so beautiful. I have to believe she floated gently up to heaven.  I remember our last good bye with a tear in her eye... Was it tears of joy?  Meeting Jesus, saying hi to daddy & momma?  Was she escorted by her angel?  Could she hear our prayers? Now we transition into life without her.  She won't call & stay on the phone with me until I arrive to my destination safely & reminding me to be aware of my surroundings. I'll miss her.  Her beautiful green eyes, dark hair, warmth of her beautiful smile, her dancing a little jig with me laughing in the background.  She was my rock through my cancer journey.  She never left my side for 5 weeks.  Washed me, cleaned and drained my wounds all while reminding me of my value, quoting scripture, giving me hope to carry on.  Her life was too short.  It wasn't fair.  

Many may not know that Mary wrote poems & songs in her teenage years and had a few published.  If Mary had something and thought you would want it she would give it to you without question.  Mary chose to serve those who had less. She nursed the sick back to health, cared for the elderly, the children, the neighbors, the alcoholics, Mary won many to Christ (including me). 

Its easy to lose sight of who really matters.  Tell those you love, you're valuable & you matter.

I bet she was welcomed with the words,"Well done thou good and faithful servant."

Oh Mary who would thought we would be doing this. I’ve been your #1 brother in law for 33 years, haha! But really you and I shared stubborn ways but we made it okay. It’s been fun having you as my sister in law. We will miss you greatly but you have gained your reward and we would not bring you back to this mess we have now. So rest my sister in the arms of our Savior, until that day we will cherish our memories. 

Mary and I grew up together as teenagers. I have a lot of Great memories of her and she will truly be missed 

Mary was always a good friend and a kind person. Mary will be missed. Praying the lord to give her family and friends peace and comfort.
