

Oddie Junior Stainback was born on July 5, 1925 in Bullard. He grew up in the Bullard community. Following school he worked for Tyler Pipe and Gardner & Denver in Dallas. His welding work took him to Detroit, working on the pipeline; before returning to Texas about a year later, when he went to work for Cooper Industries, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, baseball, basketball, telling jokes and cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cora Stainback; wife, Edna Mae Stainback; son, Dana Alan Stainback; siblings, Leo, Tommy and William Stainback, as well as, Leona Stainback Davis, Iva Stainback Alford, Juanita Stainback Cooper and Melba Stainback Pate.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Knight and her husband, Jerial of Troup; grandson, Shawn Dawkins and his wife, Linda of Fort Worth; daughter-in-law, Vickie Stainback of Chandler; grandson, Chad Alan Stainback of Leonard; great grandson, Brady Stainback; special friends, Leo and Vivian Britton, Wayne and Brenda Ezernack, Carolyn Chapman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at Tyler Memorial Funeral home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2015, also at the funeral home, with Elder Roy Cooper conducting. Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
