Services for Sarah O. Stringer, 77, of Tyler are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home chapel with Neal Thurman officiating. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Stringer was born Aug. 15, 1933, in Talladega County, Ala., to the late Charlie and Annie Cochran and passed away in Tyler on Aug. 31, 2010. She was a resident of Tyler for 65 years, a secretary for an electrical company and a member of University Church of Christ.
Mrs. Stringer is survived by her sons, Kenneth Stringer of Tyler and Kerry Stringer of Edom; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Cochran of Lake Palestine and Jerry Cochran of Kilgore; sisters, Joyce Kuykendall of Delta, Ohio, and Kathy York of Ben Wheeler. She was preceded in death by husband, Don Stringer.
Pallbearers will be Jack Stringer, Johney Hicks, Melton Redferd, Truit Conner, Bobby Dike and Chris Dike.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
