

Steven Earl Calhoun, born August 17th, 1952, in Tyler, Texas, to Thomas and Tina Calhoun, passed away on December 26th, 2025. He spent his entire childhood in Tyler and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1971. From there, he attended Tyler Junior College and at the same time, an Apache Belle, Debbie Hart, caught his eye. In 1974, he moved to Houston, where he began working for Union Oil Company. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1975 and married Debbie. They then moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where he continued his career in the oil patch. He decided to strike out on his own and moved back to Tyler. The rest is history.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Debbie, two sons, Glen (Jeri) of Bossier City, Louisiana and Clay (Brittany) of Montgomery, Texas. His brother, Mark Calhoun (Angie), reside in Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren include Cesalie Calhoun and Jared Stuehrenberg of Bossier City, Louisiana, Hailey and Kadence Lowery of Lubbock, Texas, Jack Calhoun of Murchison, Texas, and Cameran Calhoun of Montgomery, Texas. Three great grandchildren include Teagan and Sidney Hanson and Johnson Calhoun, all residing in Bossier City, Louisiana. Nephews Brian Calhoun (Lisa) of Dallas, Texas, Brad Calhoun (Angela) of Portland, Oregon, and niece Ashley Seckler (Carlos) of Dallas, Texas.
A private graveside service will be held at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, followed by a memorial service for family and friends at Marvin United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Calhoun Residence. Arrangements are under direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
