Tommie Jean Lancaster

Tommie Jean Lancaster, age 94, of Tyler, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Greenbrier Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Tommie, daughter of the late Oscar Thomas Kelton and Eva Mae Smith Kelton was born on August 9, 1928 in Jacksonville, Texas.

Tommie loved cooking, gardening, camping and fishing and was known for her excellent sewing and crocheting skills. Many times, she would sew and make items for Beta Zeta Pi Sorority and loved contributing and being involved. Tommie never missed an opportunity to learn something new and always encouraged others to do the same.

Tommie leaves behind very dear friends and caregivers, Tommy and Mary Ann McMichael of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Tammy and Husband, Donny Clark of Chapel Hill, Texas; and daughter, Rebecca Netherland of Troup, Texas. Tommie also leaves behind a Niece, Marylyn Mullins of Garland, Texas; nephew, Dan and wife, Sue Kelton of Jacksonville, Texas; and a niece, Nellie and husband, Donald Marx of Bastrop, Texas. Tommie will be dearly missed.

Tommie is preceded in death by her late husband of 49 years, Jordan “Chief” Lancaster of Tyler, Texas; 7 sisters and 2 brothers.

A celebration of life for Tommie will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 at 10:00 am at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler, Texas 75704.
