He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth, a brother, Julian of Lufkin, three children, Glen, David and Nancy, and numerous relatives including grandchildren, nieces,nephews, cousins and extended families.
He graduated Jeff Davis High School in Houston and San Antonio Collage. He was a S/Sgt, a USAF veteran and retired from a career with the Union Pacific Railroad. He earned a black belt in Judo, served as a Scoutmaster and Little League Umpire, and was a Square dancer. His lifelong passion was gardening.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, October 27, 2017, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Tyler Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dixie Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday, October 26, 2017.
