Christine Kotula King

Montville – Christine King, age 65, of Montville, peacefully passed away at Beechwood Rehab and Nursing Center in New London. She was born February 3, 1950 in New London to John and Rose (Jesmer) Kotula.

Christine, known as Teeny to her family and close friends, graduated from Montville High School in 1968 and most recently worked as the Assistant Fiscal Accountant for the VNA at the Ledyard Town Hall.

Besides her loving husband David King, she is survived by her son Andrew King and his girlfriend Tonya MacKenzie of Montville, a daughter Heather Saglimbeni and her husband Carmen of Old Lyme and two grandsons Liam and Anthony. She leaves behind her mother Rose Kotula, a sister Kathryn Piersa and her husband Tom of Edgewater, FL, and nephew Tom Piersa of Stamford, CT. Her sister-in-law Valerie Modean and husband David, their son Matt and daughter Jill of Arizona, and her brother-in-law Andrew King of Price, Utah all mourn her passing. She was predeceased by her oldest son, John Henson.

Chris was known for her contagious spirit and as someone who found the positive in all situations. Her smile brightened a room and she always had a way of making those around her feel loved and welcome.

Her pride and joy were her family and friends and the home she made for them and shared at every opportunity. She loved every holiday and decorating for each one of them. When she wasn’t working or decorating, she spent time in her kitchen creating delicious meals and cultivating her garden and flowers with her green thumb. Chris’s get-away of choice was always the beach especially the beaches in Cape Cod which she looked forward to going to every summer with the same group of girlfriends since her 20’s.

Known for her light and laughter, she will be terribly missed by all she leaves behind. A Graveside service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Uncasville, CT.
