Gloria J. Donovan

There was no light in Gloria’s life that shone brighter than the love she had for her family. A devoted mother to Shawn (Heather), Shannon (Joshua), and Michael, she found motherhood as her greatest calling.

Until she became a grandmother.

As strong, devout, and unwavering she was as a mother she was equally soft, warm, and empathetic as a grandmother. Rayne (Joshua), Hunter (Avalon), and Lillian laid to rest a woman whose tenacity for her family set a foundation for generations to come.

Generations that include her Great Grandchildren. Chance, Charlie, and Venus mark a third generation of children that will blossom and grow under the guidance, love, and support Gloria instilled in her children and Grandchildren.

Sister to Elaine (Paul), Roy (Cathy), and Charles she was born on October 26th, 1951 the first born of parents Roy and Beverly Bittner also of Uncasville.

Gloria was a role model, best friend, sister, grandmother, arts and crafts enthusiast, spouse, hero, great grandmother, mentor, cousin, aunt, avid candy lover, cancer survivor, warrior, and mother. She was unapologetically herself. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

Services will be held on Monday August 28th at the Montville Funeral Home 53 Norwich New London Tpke. Uncasville from 4-7pm
