
He was born in Norwich on May 12, 1924 to the late John and Helen (Sullivan) Doyle. He attended NFA, joined the Army serving his country, and returned to civilian life working for the State of CT DOT & Dept. of Safety. On Sept. 13, 1952 he married his beloved Lorraine (Laudone) at St. Mary Church, Norwich. She predeceased him in 1999.
Red enjoyed a simple lifestyle and hard work. He was formerly a member of the Knights of Columbus and liked to bowl and play cards. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter; Jacqueline Doyle Uhler, son; Paul Doyle and friend Steven Lain, sisters; Noreen Doyle Murphy and Ann Doyle O’Neil, grandchildren; Alysha Uhler Lugo and Kelcie Uhler, great-grandchildren; Charles Lugo Uhler and Annalisce Lugo Uhler, and several niece and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday from 7pm-9pm at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30am meeting directly at St. John Church, Maple Ave., Uncasville with burial immediately following at St. Patrick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
