Ruth Johnson Eggleston

Uncasville-Ruth Florence (Johnson) Eggleston, age 94, of Uncasville, died peacefully on December 29, 2010 at Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born on December 7, 1916 in Hartford to the late Ida and Eric Johnson. She was married for 52 years to her beloved husband Frank who predeceased her on May 14, 1987.

Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a lover of her pet animals. She was a member of the Montville Senior center where she loved playing bingo, and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Stars.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Silva of Uncasville, granddaughter Jessica Howard of Virginia and great grandchildren Bailey and Jameson to whom she was known as G.G. She also leaves behind a sister Irene McCombs and brother Wallace Johnson. She is predeceased by an infant son Frank Henry, Jr. and two brothers William and Arnold Johnson.

Family and friends may visit the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich New London Turnpike, Uncasville on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral home service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Comstock Cemetery, Depot Road, Montville.
