Beverly J. Wygant Hughes

Beverly J. Hughes, 84, of Union City passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek. She was born July 10, 1929 in Battle Creek to John and Vivian (Crane) Wygant. She married Ray Hughes on September 20, 1947. He preceded her in death December 1988.

Beverly was the Food Service Director of several area community schools. She also worked for eleven years at Kellogg.

She is survived by a son: Larry (Sally Proctor) Hughes of Homer, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Donna Robinson of Battle Creek, Dee Waylen of Hart, 3 brothers; John Wygant of Battle Creek, David Wygant of Battle Creek, Merwin Wygant of Plymouth and daughter-in-law, Donna Hughes of Homer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond, a son; Gary and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Union City. Funeral services will be Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Union City with Pastor Karen Nachtigall officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
