
Alexander was born in Newark, N.J. on June 15, 1926 to Anthony and Anna Sena, the youngest of three children.
He enlisted in the Navy at the age of eighteen and served as a Combat Hospital Corpsman on the Navy Ship The U.S.S. Deuel, during the battle of Iwo Jima, Japan. At the end of the war, he returned to Newark, N.J. and became an auto mechanic. He met his wife Sarah Curcione and they were married in 1948. Alexander and Sarah enjoyed 67 happy years together until her passing in January 2016.
Alexander started his own Auto Repair business, AL-X Auto Center in 1964. He and his son, Gerard (Jerrv), operated the business for more than 55 years, at 415 Chestnut Street, Union, New Jersey, along with his grandson, Gerard, who joined the company until its closing in October 2019.
Alexander was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, his son Gerard and his sisters, Gloria and Carmella.
He is survived by his daughter, Alexis Saracco, her husband Michael Saracco, his daughter-in law, Marie Sena and his grandchildren, Anthony, Gerard and Anjelica Sena. He is also survived by his beautiful great grandchildren, Olivia, Victoria, Gia and Luca Sena.
