Carmen J. Verducci

Born on November 1st , 1938, Carmen was born and raised in South Orange, NJ. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1956 before enlisting into the marines. He proudly served from 1956-1958;

later, he was hired by Chubb and Son Insurance Corp. in Warren, NJ and worked for Chubb and Son for approximately 40 years. Carmen would go on to retire at 60 years old. During this time, he married his high school sweetheart, Carole Hebeler on November 26th, 1960. He would then move to Union in 1965, residing there for the remainder of his life. Carmen and Carole welcomed two children, Frank and Christine Verducci.

Carmen is predeceased by his middle sister, Elizabeth Verducci, his father, Frank Verducci, his mother, Minnie LaGravanese, and his daughter-in-law, Terry Kelly-Verducci. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Sopko from Pennsylvania, and his loving children: Frank Verducci of Cranford, NJ; Christine Richards of Clark, NJ; and his son in-law Mike Richards. Furthermore, Carmen leaves behind his grandchildren, Danielle Verducci, born 2006, and Jake Richards, born 2010, who he treasured.

He was an avid lover of the Yankees and Jets and loved attending his own grandchildren’s sporting events. Carmen enjoyed spending time at the Union YMCA and going to the diner for breakfast with his YMCA friends. He also enjoyed taking senior center bus trips to Atlantic City. But, above all, Carmen absolutely adored spending time with his grandchildren, Danielle and Jake, and joking around with them.

A visitation for Carmen will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Rosedale Cemetery, 750 E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036.
