Catherine E. Hofmann

Catherine "Cathy" E. (nee Thomas) Hofmann of Mountainside, New Jersey, passed on March 24, 2026, peacefully at her home at the age of 78. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 23, 1946, and married her husband Robert Hofmann in April 1969. Cathy found joy in time spent by the ocean, especially in Fenwick Island, Delaware, and in life's simple pleasures, reading, traveling, and sharing meals with friends. She was devoted to her community, volunteering with the CCD program at Holy Spirit Church and serving as co-chair of the homeless outreach program at St. Luke and All Saints Church. She was predeceased by her parents Carl and Helen (nee Campbell) Thomas). Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Robert, her sister-in-law Doris, and many friends. She will leave a lasting memory with all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083, US, on March 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at the Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 300 Central Ave, Mountainside, NJ 07092 on Saturday March 28, 2026, at 10:30 am followed by entombment in St Teresa Cemetery, Summit, NJ.
