Criseida Bobadilla Vargas, loving mother, sister, and wife; peacefully transitioned on march 10th surrounded by her loved ones. Criseida was born in the Dominican Republic on January 26th, 1947 to Hilda Marina Gonzalez and Bienvenido Bobadilla.
As a child she was a very adventurous girl who loved to have fun with her sisters and brother (Xiomara, Bienvenida, Mario, Gisela, Gilda, and Glenda). When she got older she moved to New York City where she met the love of her life, Dario Antonio Vargas and parented 3 children, Jose, Edward, and Dario.
She was endlessly creative, making elaborate tiered cakes for birthdays and weddings, intricate draperies and bedspreads for her house, soffrito from scratch, and dancing salsa with her husband till the wee hours.
Criseida was a master seamstress with a love for fashion and worked at places such as Liz Claiborne, The Gap, and the New York City Ballet and Opera. Her adventurous nature and curiosity for different cultures took her around the world with her family on many occasions. But her greatest passion was always her family and she was the happiest making them happy.
Criseida loved unconditionally. Her capacity to listen and her fun and unassuming way, endeared her to all she encountered.
She left us all too soon, but her shining spirit will truly live in all those she touched.
