Edward McCue

Beloved husband of Edith McCue. Adored father of Linda Schelhorn and Kurt McCue. Dear grandfather of John Schelhorn and his wife Stephanie, and Steven Schelhorn. Loving great-grandfather of Julia, Johnny, and Mikey Schelhorn.

Edward graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, where he was an outstanding athlete. He then attended St. Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark. He was a proud Veteran of World War II and served in the US Marines as a corporal in the Pacific Theatre. He became a Purple Heart recipient after being wounded during the Battle of Saipan. After the war, he worked for the family business, McCue's Dairy in Elizabeth. There after, he was a salesman with P. Ballantine & Sons for many years.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. A service will be offered at The Church of Saint Theresa, Kenilworth on Saturday, August 4th at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
