Jeffrey Burchardt

Jeff was born on March 1, 1960 in Union, NJ to Ruth (Wendland) Burchardt and the late Harold Burchardt. Jeff’s career spanned for nearly 40 years at Elizabethtown Gas. He began his career as a Street Mechanic in 1980. He graduated to a Crew Leader position before becoming a First Responder in 2005. He retired in 2018. Jeff was a Shop Steward for 10 years before becoming the Divisional Vice President of the Local 424 Union for over 10 years.

He is predeceased by his mother- and father-in-law Dorothy and Stephen Oliwa Sr., and his brother-in-law Stephen Oliwa Jr.

Jeff was a man of many hobbies. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing, and cooking. He loved taking family vacations to Ocean City, MD, and trips to his family farmhouse in Upstate NY. Jeff was a nature and animal lover who especially loved his cats. He also enjoyed music and going to rock concerts.

He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Burchardt, daughter Allison Burchardt, brother Allen Burchardt, sister and brother-in-law Linda and Wayne Meade, brother- and sister-in-law Robert and Deborah Oliwa, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 1pm at the Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, NJ.
