Jose Blanquer

Jose was born in 1925 in Algiers, Algeria. He then resided in Valencia, Spain and immigrated to New York in 1962. He was a baker by trade and worked for several bakeries in the New York area before retiring from Eclair Bakeries. He lived in Union N.J. for 25 years and participated in the Union Senior Citizens Club. Jose and his wife Irene spent much of their retirement in their home in Spain. He loved to bake and he was an avid soccer fan. Most of all he loved his daughters and grandchildren.

Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Irene Blanquer. Loving father of Mary Jo Simoes and her husband Fausto, Rosario Trogele and her husband Thomas, Irene Bobbins and her husband Richard, Lina Blanchet and her husband Yann. Dear brother of Vicente Blanquer and the late Elena Blanquer. Adoring grandfather of Victoria Simoes, Katherine Simoes, James Trogele, Carolyn Trogele, Thomas Trogele, Christopher Bobbins, Luke Bobbins, Helena Blanchet and Anais Blanchet. He is also survived by his cousin and close friend Juan Lledo and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Spain and France.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11th from 4-8 p.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Michael’s Church, Union on Saturday, October 12th at 10:15 a.m. with entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
