

Born and raised in Elizabeth to loving parents John and Catherine (Nee Calavano) Patricia
While bowling Kathleen met the love of her life Robert Sarno and they were married in 1970 and renewed their vows 20 years later. Together they had two daughters whom they adored, Robin Sarno LaRocca and Dina Sarno DiMenno.
Kathleen worked in the accounting department at Twin City Roller Ring and St. Elizabeth Hospital as a billing clerk before moving on to work for the Wakefern food Corp. for over 23 years before her retirement in 2018.After Robert's passing in 1992 Kathleen went on to live in Union where she has resided for over 23 years.
In her free time Kathleen could be found playing BINGO, going to the Atlantic City and Pennsylvania Casinos. Going to the beach, grabbing a sweet tea from McDonalds, or eating Flan. She had a schedule that she always stuck to where she would get her nails and hair done every Saturday morning. In her younger years Kathleen loved to Roller Skate at twin city roller rink and Dance. Kathleen loved to spend time with her family at BBQ's and visiting her cousins at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Kathleen was also so very proud of her children and grandchildren, spending time with them is what really brought her joy. Kathleen stayed very active in her community participating in St. Catherine's Church folk group where she both sang and played the guitar as well as acted as a Lector. She also served as a Lector at St. Michael's Church in Union, NJ from 1999-2017.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sarno; her brother John Patricia (Joan).
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Robin LaRocca (Joseph); and her daughter Dina DiMenno (Scott); her sister-in-law Lucille DuBois; her grandson Jason, her granddaughter Olivia, her granddaughter Gianna and her pet dog Max. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Kathleen will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
A funeral service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:15 AM at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 1212 Kelly Street, Union, NJ 07083. Service will be livestreamed, guests can sign on through the website: stmichaelunion.org pressing Home and then the Livestream button or through facebook.com/StMichaelParishUnion/
A graveside service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1900 Galloping Hill Road, Kenilworth, NJ 07033.
