It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth R Kimble, who peacefully passed away on May 5, 2025. Born in Summit NJ on April 6, 1959, Kenneth was a devoted father of three sons and a dedicated employee of Kean University, where he often went above and beyond the call of duty to keep the university operating as well as possible, no matter the circumstances. He was predeceased by his parents Leon and Rose Kimble, oldest sister Margaret Hedge and nephew Robert “Bobby” Kimble, and survived by his ex-wife Cheryl and three sons Michael, Robert and John.
Early on, Kenneth was a cub scout, a 7th grade spelling bee champion, an altar boy, a boy scout and then a boy scout/den leader, where he remained with the Boy Scouts of America in acting service throughout his life and his son’s lives. With his youngest son being a Dunellen Tennis team member, Ken was active within the Dunellen High School Men’s Tennis team. In addition, he volunteered his time into maintaining the Brook Arts Center in Bound Brook NJ.
Kenneth graduated from Union High School in 1977. He had post-secondary engineering and electrical training and certificates, as well as having attended Kean University. While attending Kean, he began working part-time on campus, eventually working full-time in the facilities department. He retired as Acting Director of Facilities at Kean University after over 40 years of service.
