Robert M Hood

Robert M. Hood, 83 passed away on March 5th, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and as a child moved to Elizabeth, NJ and eventually resided in Rahway NJ. He was happily married to his wife Nancy of 59 years. Robert was able to retire in 1989 and resided in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, camping, traveling and most of all, spending time with his family. He proudly served in the armed National Guard for 21 years and retired as a Captain in October of 1993.Husband of the late Nancy E. Blaisdell Hood, Loving father of Bob Hood II and wife Stacey of Forney, TX, Cindy Wohltman and husband Chet of Monroe Twp., and Doug Hood and wife Laura of Somerset. He had eight grandchildren; Eric, Laura and Kevin Wohltman, Douglas, Katie and Jonathan Hood, Ariel Hood and Alexis Head and great-grandchild, Kennedy Head. He is also survived by his companion, Mary Dufrane.Visitation will take place on Wednesday March 8th from 5-9 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave. Union NJ 07083. A service will take place on Thursday March 9th at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Followed by interment at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Robert’s memory to the American Cancer Society
