Rose C. Kimble

Rose worked at Prudential Insurance in Newark, NJ and at Kean University in Union, NJ. After retiring she enjoyed visiting with her co-workers at the retired workers annual Christmas Party. She had a life-long love of music, singing and dancing in her youth, singing in church choirs for most of her life and being a soloist at church during mass and at weddings and funerals. She was a den mother for the Boy Scouts, a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed volunteering for many other activities. She traveled widely and had a very active social life. Recently she was still playing poker at a weekly game at her assisted living facility.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Leon Kimble; daughter Margaret (Peg) Hedge and her grandson Robert Kimble.

Rose is survived by her sons Leon Kimble and his wife Linda of Stewartsville, NJ; Raymond Kimble and his wife Gail of Martinsville, IN; James Kimble and his wife Lynda of Palm Springs, CA; Allen Kimble of Toms River, NJ; Kevin Kimble of Indianapolis, IN; Kenneth Kimble and his wife Cheryl of Dunellen, NJ; and her daughters Theresa Ries and her husband Patrick of Keyport, NJ and Barbara Kimble of Flemington, NJ. She has a surviving sister, Ethel Schumm of Fort Collins, CO. Rose had over 20 grandchildren and over 15 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Rose will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083. A mass will occur Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 767 Prospect St, Maplewood, NJ 07040.
