

Sharon Michele Patterson Harris, was the oldest of three children of the late William James Patterson and Elmar Cynthia Patterson, born August 28, 1956 in Elizabeth, NJ.
Sharon was a lifelong resident of Scotch Plains, NJ and a graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, class of 1974. She also attended Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Counseling and a Certificate of Achievement in Evangelism from Grace Hill Bible University. Sharon attended many seminars and was always learning.
At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ at Revival Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Flowers Sr. She later joined Living Water Worship Center, under the leadership of Pastor James Spann. Later, she joined New Life Restoration, under the leadership of Pastor Carla Palin. Years later, she joined All Hearts Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Flowers, Jr. Later she joined and was an active member of Radiant Church, under the leadership of Pastor Marcus Jackson.
Sharon's very first job was delivering newspapers. Immediately after college, she was a youth counselor at Camp Brett Endeavor, Lebanon, NJ. As she got older, she worked at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank in Scotch Plains as a teller and quickly moving her way up to Branch Manager. Later she worked at Bob's Furniture as a Floor Manager in North Plainfield, while also working many years as a Manager at QuickChek in Piscataway.
Some of Sharon's favorite pastimes were spending time with family and traveling with friends—traveling to see the Black History Museum and The Bible Museum in Washington, DC; saw Joyce Meyers in PA; attended Site and Sound to see Daniel. Her favorite food was seafood. Some of her favorite tv shows were Dark Shadows; Twilight Zone, Edge of Night and Matlock!
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents William James Patterson and Elmar Cynthia Patterson; and nephew Terek Patterson. She is survived by her brothers Robert Patterson Sr. (Karen) and Keith Patterson (Charlotte); her son at heart, Gregory Lamarr Easton Banks; her nieces and nephews--Alicia Skrzypek (Thomas); Robbie Patterson; Shaheerah Everett (Maurice); Keith Patterson Jr.; Michael Patterson (Alison) and her great nieces and nephews. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of a host of family, special friends and loved ones.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
