Sophie Pizutelli, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2013 in Union, NJ. Born in Newark, Sophie resided in Union for the past 40 years, having worked as a school bus driver for the Irvington Board of Education for over 30 years. Sophie was also a lifelong New York Yankees fan.
Sophie was predeceased by her dear husband, Vincent J., her parents Alfred and Jennie Stoia; and her brothers Ralph, Anthony (Nino), and Archie Stoia. She is survived by her loving children Joanne Stewart and Harry J. Pizutelli and his wife Jean; as well as her adoring grandson, Vincent, whom she loved and adored above all else; as well as many cousins and relatives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9 from 4-8 PM at the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave Union, NJ. Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10 at 9:30 AM. Funeral mass will be offered at Holy Spirit Church, Union at 10:30AM, with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
