William Patrick Grote Jr.

William “Bill” is preceded in death by his wife Judith Lynn (1995). He is survived by his fiancé, Joanne Russo of Union; his sons Steven and his wife Kimberly of Roselle Park, and Michael and his wife Jennifer of Union; his grandchildren JaLynn Ann, and Michael Patrick; and his brothers Dennis of Union, and Paul of Hillsborough. Bill was the recipient of the Union County 200 Club Award for Valor in 1983, serving the township of Union for 27 ½ years. Bill also served in the New Jersey National Guard as a medic. Bill was a member of the Union Elks Lodge 1583 and Knight of Columbus Union Council. He was a fierce competitor and an avid fan of the St. Louis Rams and New York Yankees.

Bill “D1” will live forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 1st from 2-6 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Michael’s Church, Union on Monday, February 2nd at 10:15 AM, with interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
