William J Mccormick

William J. McCormick, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 10 at his home in Union. William was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp where he served during WWII as part of the Ninth Air Force Troop Carrier Wing which later flew the 101st Airborne into battle on “D” Day and carried supplies etc. in the war zone and transported the wounded. He was later employed as a supervisor for Bristol Myers, Hillside NJ, for 37 years before his retirement in 1982.

William was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary (nee Duddy). He is survived by his loving children Mary Ellen Bracaglia, James McCormick and his wife Lenora, William McCormick and his wife Patricia, Kathleen Rutar and her husband William, and Joan Murdoch. He is also survived by his grandchildren Karen, William, Kevin, James, Megan, Kristen, and Brian, as well as his great-grandson Andrew.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday December 14 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM to the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave Union. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday December 15 at 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church, Union, with committal service and interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
