Mrs. Alberta Marie Klingensmith died in her home in Rancho Cucamonga, on May 20th, 2016. She and her loving husband celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 5th and she was one week away from celebrating her 86th birthday when she passed.
Alberta was born on May 28th, 1930 in Morris, Minnesota. She was the oldest of seven children born to Albert and Avis Grote. She is survived by her husband James; three sisters: Laverne, LaDell and Debbie; five children: Mark, Scott, Susan, Eric and Todd; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her family was the core of her life and she loved every moment with them.
Alberta moved from Morris Minnesota to Denver Colorado with her girlfriend Doris Krause, then moved to Los Angeles to continue her career in bookkeeping and banking. Alberta and James met at her first job in LA at California Bank. They quickly fell in love, got married in Pasadena and started their family in Azusa.
Alberta’s greatest pleasure was her husband and family and was constantly cooking or cleaning for the first 20 years of marriage. As their children grew she engaged in several volunteer organizations and enjoyed singing with the Pomona Valley Chapter of Sweet Adeline's.
A memorial is scheduled for July 2nd, 10:00am at Stone Family Funeral Home, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alberta’s life.
