Debbie was born on November 29, 1953 to Robert and Ethel Virginia Brown in Orange, California. She graduated from Charter Oak High School of Covina in 1972.
Debbie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very kind and giving person who put the needs of others before her own. Conversations with Debbie were so easy and often filled with laughter. She had an amazing ability to be silly, fun loving and sassy too. She was a strong woman who faced each challenge in her life with courage and a sense of humor. She raised both her daughters to know the importance of family and hard work. She took pride in her grandchildren. She loved to hear about their latest school, sports and personal accomplishments. She enjoyed attending concerts, comedy, and entertainment shows in Las Vegas or at the local casinos with her husband. She especially loved going on day trips which highlighted spots in California.
She held various jobs over the years but most thoroughly enjoyed working for more than ten years at Starbucks before she retired. She loved the family-like environment at her store and getting to know so many customers over the years that quickly became her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ethel Virginia Brown, her sisters Ruth and Jeanne, her brothers Stephen and Forest, her in-laws John and Shirley Newman, who were like a second set of parents to Debbie, a grandchild Zachary Leeworthy, and two nieces Rebecca Brown and Alexis Newman.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Newman of Ontario, her daughters Christine Leeworthy of Fresno, CA and Olivia Newman of Chino, CA, son in-laws Jonathon Leeworthy and Devin Wright, her grandchildren Matthew and Paige Leeworthy, her brother Larry Brown and numerous other family members and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
There will be no memorial service at this time as per Debbie's wishes. Please honor Debbie by sharing your wonderful memories and stories with loved ones or find a small way to pay it forward while thinking of her.
