

Gloria DeMauro passed away peacefully on January 31, 2016, at the MAM Board and Care Hospice Center in the City of Upland, CA. Gloria went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternal life in heaven. She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 22, 1922 and most recently lived in Alta Loma, CA., near her son, David. her parents were Italian immigrants who had emigrated from Italy to Massachusetts in search of a better life in America. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Anthony George DeMauro who served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater as a Infantryman during WWII. She is survived by two sisters; Virginia Furlone of Phoenix, Arizona, Marie Woods of Lakeland, Florida, and a brother, Dennis Furlone of Cottonwood, Arizona. She took great pride in her four sons: Richard DeMauro (Cheryl) of Prescott, Arizona, Anthony DeMauro (Deanna) of Issaquah, Washington, David DeMauro (Karen) of Alta Loma, California, and Steven DeMauro (Debbie) of Redlands, California. She has 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She convinced husband, Tony, to move from Worcester, Massachusetts to Ontario, California in 1957. Both she and Tony worked at many jobs to raise their 4 sons and help them achieve an education and make a better life for themselves in Southern California. She was very proud of her Italian Catholic heritage. She attended Mass faithfully her entire life and served several Catholic Churches teaching Catechism and assisted the Priests and Nuns. She also served as a Chaplains assistant at Redlands Community Hospital for over ten years. She made friends easily no matter where she went, was especially kind to everyone she knew, and always had a humorous spirit. One of her favorite Bible verses was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." A Remembrance Ceremony and Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10 at Stone Funeral Home in Upland, California at 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Thursday, February 11, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alta Loma, California at 10 a.m followed by internment at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Tony.
