Dear Mollie,
I looked up Mat's name today to ask him a question.  The news of his passing was a total surprise.  Mat worked with my late husband, Russ Keeling, at USPA & IRA many years ago and they never lost touch with each other.  
Russ and Mat very much enjoyed working together and he and I enjoyed a couple of BBQ's at your home.  Mat was always so kind  to me.
I am sorry for your loss and share your grief.    I do hope you have a chance to read this.

My name is Carlas Stewart (by marriage). I am the daughter of Harris Matthews. Dad showed me and my sister, Robin Matthews, the best life two little girls could ever ask for. My sister and l are women now and will never forget the morals and ethics that Dad instilled in us. It really saddens my heart that he is gone.

Molly, thank you for sharing Mat’s Sunday mornings with Northkirk Presbyterian Church.  He has been a mainstay at our small church, always cheerful and friendly, always looking sharp.  Everyone knew him, and we will all miss him.  I pray for the Lord’s comfort for you and your family.

Mat was a special colleague and friend with whom I shared the pleasures and memories of military service ,,, I'll forever miss those handshakes and our coded references that only the military share.

Some of my fondest memories are of my wife and I playing cards with Mat, Mollie and the Norris’s, it was always a great time with good people, and although it has been several years both Mat and Mollie have always been in our thoughts and prayers 

We knew Matt from the Northkirk Presbyterian Church.   Matt was a quiet man,  gentle and warm, and he always had a smile if you looked his way.   I remember he sent a college graduation card to my youngest son with a gift and a wise encouragement to work hard and work with excellence.   We were blessed to know Matt and send our deepest sympathies and love to his family.   

My husband and I always enjoyed seeing and getting a smile and greeting from Matt each Sunday we were at Northkirk Church together!  After service a hug and a handshake from Matt and others at church, and our week had a great beginning.  Matt will be remembered fondly by his church friends.  God bless all of you missing this wonderful gentleman.

I've known Mat for several years from Northkirk Presbyterian Church.

In 2020 after worship services resumed, the church was initially meeting outdoors, socially distanced on the porch. After worship, Mat would always stay back to help move chairs and other furniture back inside. Before leaving church, with a smile on his face Mat would wave his hand saying, "See you next week!"

I will miss Mat and his cheerful, gentle personality. My heartfelt condolences to all family and friends. May the Lord comfort us during this time of loss.

We will always remember Matt’s friendly smile and personality. We belonged to LA Fitness and besides seeing him at church we would see him there at 4::00 am when it opened…. Always with a smile and warm hello even at 4:00 am!!😊 
He always made a point to visit with us on Sunday or at least say hi and he seemed like a very hard worker.

I know Matt from his church I am Usher he is the sweetest man I ever met dress So Fancy and so nice I will miss him so much greeting him into the church every Sunday God bless you Matt I will miss you you be in my prayers

My sympathies and prayers to go Molly and the Matthews family.  I knew "Matt" from attending Northkirk Presbyterian Church.  He was the epitome of a "gentleman" in every sense of the word!  He was always cheerful and nattily dressed down to the pocket handkerchief in his suit pocket!  I know live in Virginia but I will always fondly remember him.  My thoughts and prayers go out to you.  

Our deep condolences to the entire Matthews Family. Harris will be sorely missed. We missed his presence  at his high school (Camden Academy High School) reunion this year July 1-3. He always attended. We pray that you will be comforted at this difficult time.
