Janelle, like others have said, I have no words. After all, this was something I could have never imagined, so what can I possibly write? I ask God every single day why he had to take you away from us, but I know He had a reason even if it’s hard to accept. I guess I can just share some memories. I remember a family barbecue at your house in Ontario  when I was about 7 years old. Everybody had gotten out of the pool to go eat, but I stayed behind to play with some toys. One of my favorites (I think it was Spider-Man?) had drifted to the deep end. I thought I would be able to get the toy, but I lost my grip on the edge of the pool and started to struggle. In what seemed like seconds, you leapt into the pool to save me from drowning. You saved me from quite the scary situation that day. You were always looking out for everyone. You were always so funny too. You did a lot for Roman by taking classes to learn ASL and better communicate with him. I’m not sure all mothers would have been dedicated enough to do such a thing, so that truly showed what a loving mother you were—you did so much and only wanted the best for your kids. On the topic of Roman, I’ll always remember this one joke you made. I want to say it was one of Azalea’s birthdays. Roman was acting up and you screamed “ROMAN! ROMAN!”. Then you just looked at my mom and said “Oh…right” and let out the most infectious joyous laughter. You and my mom were so funny together; always teasing each other. I can almost hear how you’d said say “Ninaaaa!” after my mom would make a joke about you. Like my mom said, the holidays were always such a special time. I always looked forward to seeing you. As your family grew though, those visits started to get a little shorter and that definitely made me sad, but that just goes to show how loved you are—everybody wanted you around and wanted to spend time with you. I can’t bring myself to say goodbye, so like others have said, it’s simply a “see you later”. Rest in Paradise 💛🌻

I remember the first time I saw you. 
It was at Jacob’s birthday party at the skate park. I remember looking at you and mentioning how pretty you were. 
As time went on, I learned how much of a beautiful person you were. You became the Aunt who helped try to clear up my acne when I was in middle school. The one who shared all of her boxy charms with me, thank god you finally canceled it lol. The aunt who took me prom dress shopping, not once, but twice. Anyone who can go shopping with me is a special kind of person. 
And now even more I see how special you were. Whenever you weren’t around your absence was always noticed. I will miss you for forever. I know you’re watching down over us all, one day I will join you.

It's taken me so long to figure out what to write. 20 years. 20 years we've been stuck by each other's side and even when I moved away, when I would go visit, we would pick up right where we left off. We have so many memories from playing football together to holidays and vacations, junk food runs to our lazy Saturday mornings raiding the kitchen and binge watching Law & Order: SVU. We had so much more to do together in life... I still remember the day I told you I was pregnant and 3 weeks later, you told me you were too! Mom called it lol.. Hey fool.. I don't even know where to begin we known each other for so long I can't even remember how long...I knew you way before Nevaeh existed that's 13+ years, and let me tell you that wasn't enough. I have so many memories that there's not enough time or space on here to write it all down. From wild nights out in the clubs to family parties at your grandma Linda's house and your moms house in Ontario. Like I said too much to write down but I will never forget every moment together. You were an amazing person inside and out you were the best friend I could have ever asked for and you were the sister I never had. I will forever be grateful for everything you did not only for me but for Martita and Carlos... they love you so very much and miss you too. Me moving to Vegas was very hard for both of us it was going to be so hard not seeing each other almost everyday...and even though you would say "now that your gone who will I go shopping with or do stuff with" you understood why I made the decision to move...and I thank you for understanding and for being proud of me like you have told me many times. 🥺 And even though we weren't in the same state anymore our friendship some how grew stronger and better. Because you would check on me and be here for me like you always were no matter the distance.  I thought living in different states and only seeing each other few days out of the month was too far and too long ...now I don't even know how I will live without you being even further from me than ever and going the longest ever without seeing you. But I keep my faith in the Lord that one day I'll get to see my best friend again in heaven and then it will be forever. So until that day comes I will forever remember you not only through memories but in my heart forever I will keep you. You gave me the best gift a grandma could ever receive and that was my first grandchild Miss Nevaeh Love Ponce for that I will always be thankful for. I'll never forget our late nights watching movies eating junk food while you were pregnant. You were always in the kitchen asking me to teach you how to cook something and you loved chicken pot pie. Even when you learned how to make it you would still ask me to make you one. When I made menudo you would always send your bowl over to get filled up. You always bought my tamales and my chocolate covered strawberries. You would always ask me about Jesus and the bible always ready to learn something new. "Big Thangs take Nevaeh to church with you" you would say "she acts better when she goes to church"in that Janelle voice only you can do. You helped me a lot when my dad died you would tell me things like Grandpa Ronnie wouldn't want you doing that, acting like that, saying that, drinking like that and you were right You reminded me of all the things I over came and how strong of a person I was. You remembered all the stories I told you about my life  and at my weakest point in my life you used those stories to remind me that I was strong and that I was on overcomer and that I would pull through . You Janelle Soto were a big part of it. You did so much in the little time you were here on earth . You even helped me get my dog spanky out of doggy jail. We would cook, sing and listen to music for hours. You were a big sister to Mariah and always took good care of her. I love you for that ❤️ You would pick me up from any where at any time to make sure I got home to Pops safe. You would say Big Thangs stay home with Pops and stay off the darn streets. Fool, words can’t express how much I love and miss you. We have so many memories from sleepovers and prank wars, to late night drives to the races, cruising on Sunday’s, egging that one chicks car. The memory of you will never fade from my heart. Even though we had our families as we got older I have always considered you my closest cousin and always will. 

You were like a sis to me. I remember since we were young we would always see who can swim faster and  you would always win and I would always say that’s not fair you have a pool at grandma Linda’s lol. Summer breaks were the best, we would have prank wars and you would invite your friends over to make it even cuz Anthony and I would always get you. Growing up together we seen how your mom and uncle Marty would called each other FAT so we started calling each other that too. Every time I called, you would say what’s up FAT lol. You would always says oh that’s jacked up or fool. You were a big fan of law and order SVU and every time it comes on now I remember you. You will be missed!!!!

When I first came to upland from the Navy she was the first person I met we became friends instantly...  I have a lot of memories of mi Amiga but I remember her laugh... Her silliness, she was always speaking cool... And was thoughtful as ever... She never missed my bday at 12am she even came one day to my house to wakee up and tell me happy birthday... There's not many people that I allow this close to me... She was always my best friend when started... She introduced me to so many people that were in her life that I just shared that love with...

We met Christmas Eve of 2012 and you welcomed me with open arms into our family. I instantly felt accepted by you. We talked about a lot right away lol and Omg could we talk about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! Our many convos included  astrology, motherhood, our deep rawest feelings, the guys (James and Lino), and everything in between. I always felt drawn to your energy, I wish I could’ve told you that. We kept in touch as much as we could and you always kept me updated with anything having to do with the family & our get togethers. You had gentle kind eyes and a laugh I craved to hear often, especially when I felt down.  You taught me a lot about life & I learned so much from you. You were the best momma to your babies and I admired how maternal you were, not only with your kids, but with everyone around you. You gave the BEST thoughtful, just because gifts, and I always felt like a kid on Christmas receiving them. Ohhh Preems! Our kickbacks with the whole gang will never be the same without you. Dinner with the SMC’s doesn’t  feel the same without you either. You welcomed me into every aspect of your life. You introduced me to your side of the family and friends and you always made sure to include me even if I wasn’t down to hang that day out or leave Lino’s side. We shared many laughs, cries, breakthroughs, and memories to last a life time. I’ll forever cherish my experiences with you Prima. You’ll  live on through all of us and I promise to do my best to keep our babies close. I know you’re smiling BIG seeing Jeline and Nevaeh back together like chicle (gum). Oh my Nellie (I know no one else called you that but you said you didn’t mind and it stuck so you were my Nellie). I know you were not my blood daughter but I love you like you were mine.  I haven’t been able to do this till now and it’s still so very hard to do. It feels like I have a huge hole in my heart. I’ll never stop missing you, you made our home a happy one. Your laughter filled every room. It’s not the same now. I would hear you and James on the other end of the hall in your room just laughing and yelling and doing what you did. It made me so happy to hear your laugh. I hope I told you that. I’m pretty sure I did. We had lots of deep conversations and I’ll always treasure them   I miss you so much. And sometimes we didn’t agree but we respected each other’s opinions. You are a real Diamond 💎

I’d never, in a million years expect any of this to happen. It’s hard to believe that it’s real. I’ll never forget her laugh… I’ll definitely never forget her smile. I loved seeing her posts on Instagram about self love and confidence. She always knew how to make others feel beautiful… I believe that’s because of how beautiful she was, Inside and out. She always tried her best, and that’s something I have always admired about her. If someone she loved was going through struggles, she would always be there, no matter what! Reading our old messages on snap or Insta always makes me tear up. It’s because I could still hear her voice in my head while reading those messages… Im so grateful for all the memories we shared together. Those memories will be close to heart forever. I’ll miss seeing her at little family gatherings we would have at grandmas. I’ll miss talking to her about self care stuff or makeup. I’ll always remember the times she’d hug me and tell me to “stop growing up so fast.” Or when she’d come into the house and tell us to help grandma clean after a party. Aww man… my love, my love, my love… I still can’t believe this… I wish we could wake up from this nightmare, but I know that’s not gonna happen. You are my rock, my soul mate, my better half. Without you I feel so lost. We created a beautiful life together, and I will do my best to continue every tradition and everything you would do for the babies. You are the best mother, and wife a man could ask for. You sacrificed and dedicated your life to the babies, writing quitting your job to stay home and raise them, I know how hard that was for you bc you loved working, but you lived for us and I will always appreciate that. You went to school for 4 years to learn ASL to better communicate with Roman. We had our struggles of course as a couple, but we got though it all and we’re stronger than ever together. I’m sorry babe, I wish I could have done more for you, I wish I would have gave you the wedding of your dreams, this was the year we were planning for it. I regret not doing it sooner. And even though we weren’t married, you are my wife for life. I’ll never let your memory die, and the kids and I will live for you and you’ll live though us. This is the most difficult letter I have ever written.  To grasp the thought of my sister passing away is unbelievable to the point where my mind refuses to accept. My only sister, my big sister.  We were four years apart...A rollercoaster ride but a normal loving brother sister relationship.  We used to to fight, talk shit, joke around & laugh.  Always had each others back.  I was blessed to have thirty one years of memories.  The way I will always remember my sister as a loving mother, aunt, daughter & sister. She enjoyed life, always willing to help out.  A funny laugh & sneeze, dimples, big smile & as I always used to tell her "Not Fat'
But skinny with a whole lot of attitude.  Thats how I will always remember my sister although she is no longer with us she will NEVER be forgotten.  I love you sister see you when I get there.

My Janelle my first and only daughter.  From the day she was born I knew she was going to be a incredible person.  Growing up she was so sweet and lovable especially with her brothers Tonio, Steven & Nieves how she adored them she was their other mom.  When they were together laughing ,fighting, arguing and being secretive they were a team through think and thin even mad she always had their backs those were all her baby brothers.  Her grandma Linda was here world her favorite person their love was beyond measure.  Since 2yrs her dad Tony would do anything for his doughier even if I said no.  His pain is real but stays strong for me.
When she would not agree with me it was either a Hmmmm or OK Judy I would laugh & smile and text back Hmmmm?  
 She was a hands Mom of 4- Nevaeh, Roman, Lilliana & Jordan she had so much love for her kids there is nothing she wouldn't do for them or anyone.  She was a auntie to  Azalea  and baby Aria whom she had so little time with she loved them and found time for them even on her busy schedule.
James and Janelle are the complete family she always wanted.  Thank you Carbone Family for all that you have done for my Janelle. 
 I have so many memories, pictures, videos of my beautiful daughter.  She is my J in JASA.  
Most people say their is no greater pain then to bear a child.   Truth is there is not greater pain than to bury one.   I have  never felt so much emptiness inside me the sadness    Our love was pure unconditional and strong. Janelle has been in our lives for many years and a best friend to our daughter  Valerie they met in high school and there friendship cont. thru the years. It has been wonderful to see there friendship thru the years. Janelle has always been loving  to us and would do anything she could for our family and the love and the friendship she grew to have with our grandson Donovan was fabulous …. You are missed Greatly Janelle…. Forever in our hearts ♥️
