Kay Lynn Morgan was born to "Mac" and Dorothy Meisinger in Phoenix, Arizona. She moved to Prescott, Arizona, when she was eight years old, and shortly thereafter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This inexorably altered her life forever, and it began immediately with daily insulin injections, which never ceased. On May 2, 1969, she married Warren Morgan, Jr., which eventually led to the birth of two wonderful daughters. She has resided in Upland since 1979. Her career was in the journalism industry, working for the Gannett Corporation, and she was instrumental in the initiation and implementation of USA Today in Southern California. Unfortunately, a massive heart attack in 1984 forced her early retirement. Plagued with major medical issues for the rest of her life she always maintained a positive spirit and attempted to make the best of every situation she faced. She loved dancing, golf, sailing, dogs, and traveling. Her travels allowed her to visit six of the seven continents, as well as innumerable islands. However, as the insidious disease progressed, all of the things she loved were slowly taken away from her, until in the end, the only pursuit she could actually be involved in was her love for dogs and her family. She is survived by her husband, Warren; two daughters, Kimberly Morgan -Webb of Alta Loma, and Christin Gomez of Concord, CA; three grandchildren, Justin Webb, Warren and Delaney Gomez; and a sister, Neva Gillan of Cahokia, IL. "Ya-ya", as she is called by her beloved grandchildren, enriched all of the lives she touched and will be sorely missed. She was the epitome of strength, grace, and caring, and those of us who were privileged to spend time with her will certainly miss her. She went to meet her Lord and Savior on March 27, 2011, just two days before she turned 61. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 2:00 P.M., Stone Chapel. Private Inurnment. Donations, in lieu of flowers to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2023 Chicago Ave., Suite B-13, Riverside,CA 92507. Stone Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
