Patrick Sherman “Tumbleweed” Walton, age 64 of Rancho Cucamonga died February 20, 2018. He was born July 4, 1953 in Alhambra, CA and lived in Rancho Cucamonga for nearly 20 years. He was a retired truck driver for companies such as Lucky, Albertsons, and CVS Pharmacy for over 25 years and was an active member of his church, Crosslight Family Ministries.
Patrick served the Lord, using his many talents to serve his local church and share God’s love to anyone who would listen. He never met a stranger and took every opportunity to tell a story or joke. His passion for working with his hands allowed him to transform his home over the years and to serve many of his family and friends through projects he would complete for them. His musical talent and beautiful tenor voice ministered to many hearts through his singing and songwriting. Patrick and his beloved wife Teri mentored many couples both in premarital counseling and through Assemblies of God Marriage Encounter. No matter where he went, Patrick had an audience, with whom he would share stories about his family and his health journey. His love for his wife and family were evident to everyone around him, and he made it a point to say “I love you” daily, advising others to do the same. He would do anything for kids and he enjoyed time with his granddaughters, making them laugh and swimming together in “grandpa’s pool.” His hospitality and passion for food made for many backyard barbeques, especially on his birthday, the Fourth of July. He was a collector of all things Yosemite Sam since his teenage years and most recently enjoyed restoring a 1955 Chevy truck he called “Bessie.”
He is survived by his wife Theresa (Cash) Walton of 37 years, Children Erin Ulloa, Ryan Walton and Shannon Lipscomb, sons-in-law Manny and Chris, daughter-in-law Sarah, granddaughters Bailey, Emily, Paisley and Adeline, and sister Noreen Sprague.
He will be deeply missed.
