I’m aware that it will come to no surprise to many, if not most of you, that I would write my own obituary. Mostly, I did this to save my family from searching for flowery words to summarize me and my nearly 89 years of what I consider to be a really great life.
For those of you who don’t already know, I was born in Rome, New York on June 13, 1936 to Virgilio and Theresa Ciotti. I was the baby of a big family. I joined the Army at a young age and did a tour of duty in Korea. Following my service, I went home to marry Patricia Ann Marcelletta in a union that lasted more than 58 years. I have two sons, Michael and Anthony, and was blessed throughout my life with the very best family in the world, including grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I tried to do the best I could to everyone that I came in contact with. Along the way I would occasionally stumble and cause hurt feelings. For this, and for those who I affected, I am truly sorry. I ask that you forgive me for that, if you can. For those that loved me and put up with me for so many years I say a very special “thank you”.
I had an amazing life! I appreciate every person I met and every experience that I had. I wish to send an immeasurable amount of love to my children who stood by me in the times that got really tough and spent countless hours answering my calls for help, especially the ones that came to them in the middle of the night.
Now, I rest,
Tony
