Phyllis Lail Hall

Tootsie was born in Iredell County, North Carolina on March 30, 1921 to the late James Otto Lail and Emma Delia Bailey. She was married to the late Jay Hall and was a devoted mother. She was a Christian lady who loved the company of children and animals. She was an optimist who always looked for the best in everyone. Her memory will always be cherished by those who knew her.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Lail; two sisters, Armetta Eckard and Ruby Lail Paige; and two nieces, Sandra Burns and Brenda Turner.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Lail and wife Patricia of Sarasota, Florida; three nieces, Shirley Bradshaw of Glen Alpine, Dolores Hildebran of Valdese, and Gail Shuping of Valdese; a granddaughter, Cindy Jones of Danville, Virginia; and two great grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Jones and Blake Allen Jones, both of Danville.

A service of remembrance will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Memorial Chapel of Valdese Family Funeral Care with Pastor Jesse Carr officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity of choice. Valdese Family Funeral Care and Perfect Peace Cremations has the honor of serving the family.
