

Beverly Ann Shipley, 79, of Mulberry, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at her home. She was born May 25, 1944 in Los Angeles to the late Ralph and Etta (Wilson) Karr. She was a homemaker, and caregiver to Lorie Mathews for 40+ years. She served with the jail ministry at the Sebastian County Jail for 15 years, and was a long-time member of The Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Schmidt; a sister, Brenda McGhee; and a brother, Johnny Karr.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Shipley of the home; four daughters, Dena Mathews of Dallas, Lorie Mathews of Fort Smith, Tammy Huettemann and husband Dave of Hackett, and Dawn Hill and husband John of Sierra Vista, AZ; three sons, Mike Shipley and wife Kimberly of Mulberry, Keith Shipley and wife Yvette of Leon, KS, and Shane Shipley and wife Christy of Van Buren; a brother, Ralph Karr, Jr. of Fort Smith; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry with interment to follow at Piney Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Shane Shipley, Keith Shipley, Mike Shipley, Dave Huettemann, Ashley Smith, and Ryan Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Shipley, Yancy Crone, Chris Beason, and Maurice Inge.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
