Bobby Franklin Faries

Bob Faries, 79, of Alma, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026. He was born June 2, 1946 in Fort Smith to the late Frank and Bula Mae (McCleod) Faries. Bob enjoyed shooting any type of gun, and collecting knives. He won the DCM National Guard Civilian Pistol Match and achieved the DCM Distinguished Pistol Award. Bob was in sales and was awarded twice top national honors receiving a gift of overseas travel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Faries.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon (Rogers) Faries of the home; two sons, Matthew Faries of Fayetteville, and Jacob Faries and wife Rachel of Brookland, Arkansas; a sister, Pat Winters and husband Bob of Fort Smith; a brother, David Faries and wife Sheila of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Asher Grace Faries and Adleigh Faith Faries and their mother, Elizabeth Wade and husband Jake, and their son, Pierce Wade.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2026 at Westark Church of Christ in Fort Smith with committal to take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
