Carl Jefferson Phillips, 70, of Rudy, AR, died Friday, June 6, 2014 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born April 19, 1944 in Johnson County, AR to the late Artie and Rosa Phillips. He was a dump truck operator for the Crawford County Highway Department and had worked for Satterfield Land Surveyors. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Phillips.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kolp of Muldrow, OK; two sons, Carl Wayne Phillips of Van Buren, Brad Phillips of Rudy, AR; three stepdaughters, Shelia Morse of Alma, AR, Rose Mary Woodrome of Tacoma, WA, Talisa Wormke of Rudy, AR; three stepsons, Wayne Wilson of Rudy, AR, Robert Wilson of Sparta, MO, Bruce Wilson of Rudy, AR; two sisters, Rose Rogers of Alma, AR, Betty Rowser of Van Buren; a brother, Artie Phillips, Jr. of Van Buren, 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren .
Mr. Phillips will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van Alma Funeral Home.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
