Cheryle Ann Costner

Cheryle Porter Costner, 63, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at her home. She was born July 20, 1957 in Brownsville, TX to Stewart and Anne Porter. She was a retired registered dental hygienist; active in the Fort Smith Pilot Club; an accomplished pianist and vocalist; a co-leader with the cub scouts and boy scouts; and had volunteered with the Van Buren School District. She was a member of Dyer United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Emily Costner.

She is survived by her husband, the Reverend Philip Costner of the home; two sons, Isaiah Costner and husband Andrew Elliott of Memphis, and Jacob Costner and companion Chelsea Higgins of Van Buren; her stepmother, Betty Jane Porter of Greenfield, TN; a sister, Donna Kendrick of Dyer; and three grandchildren, Aiden Costner, Nora Costner, and Asher Higgins.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Dyer Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Phil Costner, Isaiah Costner, Jacob Costner, and Andrew Elliott.

Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
